games i used to play when i was a kid part II

well, i think i have rested enough to continue with this topic. i have to admit, for me it is very interesting because it kinda bring back all the memories i had when i was small. not all of them are pleasant but still i had a lot of fun when i was a child. especially surrounded with all my friends and all and some of them which i still keep in touch and one of them is my best friend, Eliza a.k.a Eija. i've known her like forever. we've been together since we were 7 years old and now, we're 25 years old and still closer than ever. i know, amazing isn't it. anyways, moving on the games.

• Throw Shoe or Baling Selipar

          okay, this game is quite brutal. just like the game in "kejar-kejar", you need a very spacious place to play this game. all of the players need to be scattered all over the place. the person who is holding the shoe or in Malay "selipar" will throw the shoe to anyone and every players has to try to avoid it but if anyone was hit by the "selipar", you will be the next person throwing the "selipar". it's kinda like a tag game. kinda. sorta. when i said brutal, i meant that. sometimes people throw the "selipar" really hard, it can give you a bruise. believe me, i got that many times. but usually the boys play this games but never the less, girls can play this game too.

• Rubber

          No, i'm not talking about condom you idiot! for American, rubber is condom but for us Malaysian, rubber is an eraser. we used British English, mind you. but anyways, moving on. i still remember this game. i used to play this a lot when i was 8 years old. and at that time i collected a lot of them.trust me, a lot! but this game if fairly simple. all you need is to try to keep flipping you eraser until it is on top of your opponent's eraser. if you did that, you win! n yes, the game's name is rubber. we have no idea why it is called that. i wonder if any of kids nowadays play this game? hmm..... nah.....

• Galah Panjang

          in order to play this game, you need someone who can run/act fast and someone who is good in maneuvers. you need quite a lot of people to play this game. give or take 20 people. there will be 2 teams. one team will be blocker and the other is runner. you have to the "lat-ta-li-lat" between the leaders on which team will become blocker or runner and the losing one will become the blockers. the objectives is pretty simple, but to achieve it is a totally different thing. for the blockers, you need to block the runners from passing to the finish line. all you need is to touch them or any physical contact and they are out. as for the runners, they need to move pass all the blockers untouched from one end to another end and back again to the starting line. to understand more of this game, here is the link: http://www.klue.com.my/articles/2918-How-To-Main-Galah-Panjang

• Rubber band or Getah

          this game is mainly for girls. i'm not so sure about boys though. i've never seen any boys play this game before. so i think it is safe to say that this is girl's game. but if any of you guys want to try, go ahead. anyways, this game can be played by as many players as you want. but the more the merrier isn't it? but just so you know, this game requires a lot of jumping, so it would be nice if you have a lot of tall players or someone who can jump really high. anyways, all you need is a tonnes of rubber band which you bind them together to create a very long rubber band or "getah". there will also need for 2 people to hold at the end of each "getah". there are many levels in this game. and it will get harder each time you hit another level, so that means you need to jump much higher than before. for starters, the first level is at feet, next is ankle, follow by knees, waist, shoulders, chin, ears, and lastly top of the head. and you need to jump. trust me, it is never easy. and i think you also need skills to play this game. some people do amazing jump like you see in gymnastics and some people can't jump at all. if you still don't understand, here's a link where you can read more into it: http://klue.com.my/articles/3002-How-To-Main-Getah

well, i think that's about it. these are all the games i used to play when i was a kid. this brings back a lot of memories and i smiled and laughed all the time when i am writing this blog. i can't believe it has been so long. i miss my childhood. it's too bad that kids nowadays don't play any of these games anymore because they are more into tvs and video games and their computers. they prefer staying inside their houses instead of going outside or playground and actually play with their friends. i guess all these games will only be on our memories. a very good one though. i won't trade it for anything. 

p/s: SRAIZE, want to play all these games again when i'm in there in JB? hahahaha.....
