CNY and VD.

CNY means Chinese New Year and VD means Valentine's Day which happens funnily falls on the same day, 14th February 2010. which is also funny cause i don't celebrate either of them and yes i don't celebrate Valentine's Day. So to all my Chinese friends out there (even though i know you are not gonna read this anyway), i wish all of you Gong Xi Fa Cai and may you have a prosperous year ahead.

anyway, this year for Chinese New Year is the Year of the Tiger. awww..... i love tiger, when they were small i mean. they look so cute like a small kitten. i wish i have one. hmm.... moving on. according to my research, for this year Tiger element sign is metal. some of the Tiger attributes are:
  1. Motto - I Win
  2. Season, Month - Spring, February
  3. Gemstone - Diamond
  4. Colors - Green, Red
  5. Food - Bread, Poultry
  6. Country - Russia, Spain, Romania, Turkey, North Korea and El Salvador
alright. enough with the Chinese New Year, lets move on to next subject. Valentine's Day. there is a reason why i don't celebrate it actually. and no it's not because of The Fatwa. i didn't celebrate it cause my significant other doesn't celebrate it. i know right. kinda frustrating really, at first. he said he'll celebrate it because he knows i would like it and i want it. but it is weird isn't it? what is the point of celebrating Valentine's Day is one of you didn't want it?

the second reason i didn't celebrate Valentine's Day is because i do believe in what Ashton Kutcher said about Valentine's Day. He said," I think that everyday should be a day of romance. I think you should celebrate love 364 days out of the year. Then on Valentine's Day you get to tell whomever you hate that you cannot stand them." i totally agree with him. why should we only celebrate love on this one particular day? aren't we allowed to show our love on any other day? if so, then, everyday is Valentine's Day isn't it? okay, if you people say this day is more extraordinary than any day, then what you mean is, your time with your partner is only extraordinary ONLY on Valentine's Day but not any other day. that is just wrong. at least to me it is.

for me, everyday is extraordinary with him. i guess because we both are so far with each other, we always try to make the best of what we have and try the best to make each other happy. and to see that kind of effort is priceless and remarkable. to know that he tried his hardest to make me happy even though he is so far away and even though he knows it is fruitless, that is the best gift for me. (that doesn't mean i don't like presents. you owe me loads of them. =P)

for me, today is Valentine's Day, tomorrow is Valentine's Day and the day after that and day after that and after that.........until the end of time.
